Ed Surridge is a Local Assembly.or Citizens Jurys decision making candidate for Brighstone, Calbourne and Shalfleet County Council District on the Isle of Wight.
He campaigns for best transparency strengthening trust from communities.
LOCAL DEMOCRACY FOCUS
Ed’s work is centred on improving how residents can engage with local government and ensuring that local voices are represented in decision making processes to the highest standards available.
COMMUNITY REPRESENTATION MODEL
He is developing open and easily accessible ways for residents to contact and participate in local issues, including online tools for sharing ideas, feedback and communication.
If Ed wins the constituency’s residents assembly or assemblies (he is trained to coordinate them) decide where all of his salary is spent on the Island.
As best possible (because councillors can be prosecuted for abdicating responsibilty) the assembly or Assemblies would have the final say all his representations and votes within the Isle of Wight County Council.
Ed believes as many do that Citizens Assemblies or Jury’s can cure broken politics locally and very much further than the Island
